People always say "you can do anything you put your mind to". But in my opinion, not a lot of people really take the time to think of what all that one statement can mean.
For example, say you have a friend who says that he has insomnia and can't sleep. Well, it's obvious that the statement is true because you can see that this person is up pretty much all night. But, what he doesn't realize is that he's doing it to himself. He has it fixed in his mind that he can't sleep no matter what he does. It's all in his head.
When he constantly talks about it and dwells on it (along with other things going on in his life), he gets a negative mindset. Once he gets to that mindset he gets used to “everything bad” happening to him and just accepts it. Basically, he's making himself unhappy because of the way he thinks about things.
Studies have shown that a LOT of people's sicknesses and any other problem can come from their thinking. My Aunt is a perfect example. Her mom had passed away because of cancer a while ago. After her mom died she was so scared of getting cancer herself, that she began to obsess over it. Over the years she was constantly reading about it and thinking about cancer. My Aunt ended up getting brain cancer and a couple of years ago she passed away because of it.
Whatever we constantly think about and talk about is what we will get back. So, for example, if we're negative with our thoughts and words then you'll see more negative in your life than positive. But what people don't realize is it's so easy to change! If you teach yourself to have more positive thoughts then you'll be able to get rid of all the negative things that have been happening. “Change your mind, change your life.” That's what my mom has always said to me, and it's so true.
My mom, who is a energetics practitioner, also says that, “Even though the emotional or physical pain that we are experiencing can come from habitual negative thought patterns, that pain is very real and is a result of and energetic imbalance that is easily corrected.” Many times we're the cause of our own problems, spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally whether we like it or not. The solution is when you have a negative thought, do not say it out loud and change that thought to a positive, hopeful statement.
Believe in yourselves, pray, and be sure to keep a smile on your face! Because all in all...everything we do in life has an effect on us. Just be sure it's a positive one! :]
